Am I going to heaven? That is a question most people would like to know. The Bible does explain how to receive eternal life.
We have all sinned.
The Bible explains that we have all done something wrong, or sinned. This sin keeps us out of heaven, because there cannot be any sin in heaven.
Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins.
We cannot get rid of our sin ourselves. No matter how good we try to be, we are still sinners. That is why Jesus became God in the flesh, and died on the cross for our sins. Jesus paid for our sins when he shed His blood for us.
Salvation is by faith.
The Bible states that we are saved by trusting Jesus as our Savior. We are saved by accepting the payment that Jesus made on the cross in our place.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8,9 NIV)
You can know you have eternal life.
If we could be good and go to heaven, Christ wouldn’t have had to die on the cross for our sins. If it is by being good, we would never know if we were good enough or not. Because it is by faith in Christ, we can know we have eternal life by trusting in His payment He made for each of us.
“I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” (1 John 5:13 NIV)
Won’t you trust Jesus as your Savior right now so that you can spend eternity with Him. Just accept the payment that Jesus made on the cross for you.
